NU, DLSZ beat respective foes to stay unbeaten at 4-0

De La Salle Zobel and National University remained perfect after defeating UST and UE, respectively in the UAAP 76 Juniors Basketball tournament.

National University tallied its fourth straight victory after a 76-55 thrashing of the University of the East while De La Salle-Zobel defeated the University of Sto. Tomas 84-72 in the UAAP Season 76 Juniors basketball tournament on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Five Bullpups scored in double-digits led by power forward Mark Dyke, who finished with 13 points and a whopping 17 rebounds. NU scored 31 points on the fastbreak and forced the Junior Warriors to 26 turnovers.

UE played without Reymar Caduyac who underwent an operation for appendicitis and will be out of action for at least six weeks.
With the win, NU stayed unbeaten at 4-0 while UE remained winless at 0-4.

Renzo Subido fired in 28 points to lead DLSZ to its fourth straight victory in as many games while starting center Karl Maldinger added a double-double with 23 points and 12 rebounds.

The Junior Archers joined NU at the top of the team standings with identical records while the Tiger Cubs absorbed their second straight loss to drop to .500 at 2-2.

The UAAP Season 76 Juniors basketball tournament resumes on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena as Far Eastern University (1-2) faces off against the University of the Philippines Integrated School (1-2) at 8:00 A.M. while Adamson University (0-3) takes on NU (4-0) in the second game at 10:00 A.M..
