Lady Maroons topple Lady Eagles while Tigresses smash Lady Warriors

The University of the Philippines defeated Ateneo de Manila University 71-63 while the University of Sto. Tomas crushed the University of the East 72-51 as both teams started the second round of eliminations on winning notes with the resumption of the UAAP Season 76 Women’s basketball tournament on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Bea Daez led the way for the Lady Maroons with a near triple-double performance of 20 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists.

UP improved their record to 4-4 while Ateneo remained winless at 0-8.

In the second game, Maica Cortes once again came up with a dominating performance as she put up 14 points and 12 rebounds for UST which improved to 4-4. On the other hand, UE dropped to 1-7.

The UAAP Season 76 Women’s basketball tournament resumes on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City with the following schedule:
