Bullpups sweep Baby Tams to remain unbeaten

The NU Bullpups still stand at the top of the teams standings in the Juniors basketball division with a 9-0 record.

After a week of inactivity, the UAAP Season 76 Juniors basketball tournament resumed on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Blue Eagle Gym inside the Ateneo de Manila University campus in Quezon City.

In the first game, the University of Sto. Tomas outlasted Adamson University, 69-62 in overtime.

UST improved to 4-5 while AdU dropped to 1-8.

Another overtime occurred with the University of the East besting the University of the Philippines Integrated School 48-46 at the end of the extra period.

With the win, UE’s record is now at 4-5 as UPIS dropped to 2-7.

National University dominated defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman 63-40 to sweep their elimination round series.

NU remained unbeaten with a 9-0 win-loss card. FEU-Diliman suffered its third straight setback for a 4-5 record.

The fourth and final game for the day saw Ateneo de Manila University notch its sixth straight victory, crushing De La Salle-Zobel 64-54.

Thirdy Ravena led the Blue Eaglets with 21 points and 13 rebounds while Matthew Nieto contributed 14 points and 13 rebounds of his own.

The Junior Archers were led by Renzo Subido who finished with 18 points.

ADMU is beginning to solidify its position at second place with a 7-2 record. DLSZ has lost 4 of its last 5 games to fall to 5-4 at third place.
