By Anton Roxas Posted Aug 27th 2013

Leading UAAP Juniors MVP candidate Thirdy Ravena led the Ateneo Eaglets to their seventh straight win even as the NU Bullpups remained perfect after ten games.

Ateneo de Manila University pushed its winning streak to seven games after a 71-45 thrashing of Adamson University on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at the Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City as the UAAP Season 76 Juniors basketball tournament resumed play.

The Blue Eaglets wasted no time in putting on the pressure against their opponents as they led the Baby Falcons 18-5 at the end of the first quarter. Ateneo never gave Adamson a taste of the lead during the entire game.

Jose Escaler topscored for the scorching hot Blue Eaglets with 12 points while Reinier Quinga put up an 11 point 14 rebound double-double performance for the Baby Falcons in a losing effort.

Ateneo continues to hold the second spot in the team standings with an 8-2 record. Adamson is still dead last at 1-9.

League leading National University kept its perfect slate intact after crushing the University of Sto. Tomas 95-55. JP Caulian led the way for the Bullpups with 18 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks.

NU stands head over heels against the rest of the teams in the league with a 10-0 record. The Tiger Cubs fell to 4-6.

The other two matchups saw defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman prevail over the University of the East 66-38 and De La Salle-Zobel defeat the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons 61-50.

With the win, the Baby Tamaraws are back at .500 with a 5-5 win-loss card while the Junior Warriors dropped to 4-6. The Junior Archers remained in third place with a 6-3 record as the Junior Maroons absorbed their eighth defeat in ten outings for a 2-10 record.
