Far Eastern University notched its tenth win of the season after beating the University of the Philippines 54-48 in the UAAP Season 76 Women’s basketball tournament on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Lady Tamaraws held a safe 11-point lead with 1:46 remaining in the fourth quarter after a basket by Jack Tanaman. However, the Lady Maroons decided to keep things interesting by going on a 5-0 run fueled by Bea Daez and Antonio Wong. In the end, it was not enough to steal the game away from FEU.
With their tenth victory and only one loss in the tournament, FEU still holds the top spot while UP absorbed their sixth straight defeat for a 5-6 record.
In the second game, De La Salle University dominated Ateneo de Manila University 74-44.
