Recap: NU earns first ever Women’s Tennis crown

Defending champion Far Eastern University blasted the University of the East 67-57, to push their winning streak to three games in the UAAP Season 76 Women’s basketball tournament on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at the Blue Eagle Gym inside the Ateneo de Manila University Campus in Loyola Heights Quezon City.
Starting center Camille Sambile finished with 21 points, 13 rebounds and four assists for the Lady Tamaraws, who improved their record to 11-1.
UE remained at seventh place with a 1-9 win-loss card.
In the first game, National University defeated the Ateneo Lady Eagles 55-46.
The trio of Anne Gupilan, Kristine Abriam and Afril Bernardino combined for a total of 38 points as the Lady Bulldogs notched their ninth win of the season against only two losses.
With the win, NU positioned itself in second place, just above third place De La Salle University, who owns an 8-3 record.
Ateneo remained winless after losing their eleventh straight game of the tournament.
