Recap: NU earns first ever Women’s Tennis crown

Final Four bound National University scored a dominating 79-56 victory over the University of the East in the UAAP Season 76 Women’s basketball tournament on Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
Four Lady Bulldogs reached double digit scoring led by Afril Bernardino who finished with 16 points. Anne Gupilan flirted with a triple-double, tallying 14 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for NU.
The Lady Bulldogs remained at second place with a 10-2 record while the Lady Warriors absorbed their tenth defeat in eleven outings.
In the first game, versatile forward Lore Rivera fired in 18 points and 15 boards to propel the University of Sto. Tomas to a 70-64 triumph against Adamson University.
The Tigresses remain in the hunt for the Final Four with a 7-5 record while hurting the Lady Falcons’ chances of making it, dropping them to sixth place at 4-7.
