Back on track.
Far Eastern University feasted on a lackluster University of the Philippines side to run away with an easy straight-set win in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament Wednesday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Learning lessons from their last defeat, the Lady Tamaraws focused on their serve to disrupt the Lady Maroons' attack and pull off the 25-19, 25-18, 25-17 victory.
"After ng talo namin sa Ateneo, inayos namin yung serve namin," FEU coach Shaq delos Santos said. "Gumana yung serve namin ngayon."
Delos Santos' game plan worked to the hilt as the Lady Tamaraws limited UP to only 20 hits while also dishing out nine aces.
FEU's attack, meanwhile, was firing on all cylinders, too, as the Morayta-based crew finished with 37 kills.
Rem Palma led the Lady Tamaraws with 15 points, rookie Bernadeth Pons added a season-high 14 markers while Sam Dawson finally made her presence felt by chipping in 12 points.
FEU, who climbed to 2-1, also had 10 blocks, three each from Palma and Glyssa Torres.
"Maayos yung depensa namin," Delos Santos added. "Kahit mas matatangkad yung players ng UP, naging maganda pa rin yung depensa namin."
Angeli Araneta paced the Lady Maroons with 10 points while Kathy Bersola wounded up with eight markers for UP, who fell to 0-3.
