Recap: NU earns first ever Women’s Tennis crown

The University of Sto. Tomas finally picked up its first win in the UAAP Season 75 Men’s Volleyball tournament after defeating the University of the East in straight sets, 25-23, 27-25, 25-14 on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at the Arena in San Juan City.
Last year’s co-MVP Mark Alfafara fired in 15 points to lead the Growling Tigers while Romnick Rico backed him up with 14 points. UST overwhelmed the UE in the spiking department as they had a total of 42 points off spikes while the Red Warriors just had 29.
UST ended its two-game losing skid for a 1-2 record as UE remained winless at 0-3.
In the second game, Far Eastern University defeated De La Salle University 25-19, 14-25, 25-22, 25-15 to win their second straight contest of the season.
With the win, the Tamaraws improved to 2-1 while the Green Spikers fell to 1-2.
