De La Salle University coach Ramil de Jesus was quick to admit he wasn't satisfied with the way his Lady Spikers played last Sunday.
"Madami pa kaming adjustment na gagawin," he said after the three-time champs swept Adamson University. "Di ko pa talaga gusto yung nakita ko."
With one week to iron out kinks in their play, La Salle tests University of Santo Tomas in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament at 4:00 pm on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Spikers are heavily favored to book a fourth straight title, but didn't look their deadly selves in beating the Lady Falcons, 25-14, 25-22, 25-19.
Nevertheless, La Salle still handily won behind reigning co-MVPs Ara Galang and Abi Marano and towering middle blocker Mika Reyes, who terrorized Adamson's offense with four blocks.
Meanwhile, the Tigresses showed shaky form in beating University of the Philippines in four sets, with UST struggling with errors as they finished with 32 for the match.
Jem Gutierrez and Mela Tunay stepped up for the Espana-based squad, but the Tigresses would need more from Jessey de Leon and Pam Lastimosa if they are to pull the rug from under the Lady Spikers.
The game will air live via Studio 23, BALLS HD 167 and uaapsports.tv with a same day replay at 11 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable channel 34/ Destiny Cable channel 36.
