With coach Ramil de Jesus finally expressing satisfaction in his wards' performance, De La Salle University looks to score its fourth straight victory in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament Sunday, 2 p.m. at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Standing in the Lady Spikers' way is the University of the Philippines -- a team yet to score a win this season.
"They played well," de Jesus said of his crew after La Salle easily swept National University in what was billed to be a titanic clash.
The Lady Spikers sent wave after wave of attacks on the Lady Bulldogs in the first set, bringing NU down to its knees as the latter suffered its first defeat this year.
Despite the statement win, de Jesus said he isn't taking the winless Lady Maroons lightly.
"Sabi ko nga, talagang nag improve ang UP," the multi-titled coach said. "Siguro off game lang sila kaya natalo."
The Lady Maroons bowed to Far Eastern University in straight sets, with the Diliman spikers showing no pep in their step.
UP hopes to retain their swagger against La Salle, but that would be easier said than done when they face the three-peat champs.
The game will air live over Studio 23, BALLS HD 167 and uaapsports.tv with a same day replay at 8:30 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable channel 34/ Destiny Cable channel 36.
