Far Eastern University collides with National University as both teams seek a third win in the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament Sunday, 4 p.m. at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Lady Tamaraws are coming off a three-set clobbering of University of the Philippines last Wednesday, with FEU feasting on the lackluster Lady Maroons using their powerful service to improve to 2 - 1.
The Morayta six also leaned on their three-pronged attack led by Rem Palma, Bernadeth Pons and Sam Dawson, who fired 15, 14 and 12 points, respectively.
Coach Shaq delos Santos hopes that their good serving continues against the Lady Bulldogs, who struggled with reception in a lopsided loss to De La Salle University that dropped them to 2 - 1.
The Lady Spikers exposed NU's weakness in the rout, targeting their poor reception and not allowing the Lady Bulldogs' offense to gather steam.
That is the exact same thing FEU will look to achieve against the Lady Bulldogs, who are favored to emerge behind their twin tower tandem of Dindin and Jaja Santiago.
The Lady Tamaraws will also hope to draw more support from rookie Geneveve Casugod and veterans Gyzel Sy and Tin Agno.
Meanwhile, NU needs Myla Pablo and Aiko Urdas to wake up from their tournament slumber for them to cream FEU.
The game will air live over Studio 23, BALLS HD 167 and uaapsports.tv with a same day replay starting 10:30 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable channel 34/ Destiny Cable channel 36.
