Who will stop them?
Three-time defending champion De La Salle University goes for a 21st consecutive UAAP win when the Lady Spikers battle Far Eastern University Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
The Taft-based squad has been pretty much unstoppable in each of the last four seasons and is tipped to bulldoze past the Lady Tamaraws, who tote an even 2-2 card.
And even if FEU managed to beat La Salle in straight sets in the 2013 Unigames a couple of months ago, the Lady Spikers are expected to exact vengeance today.
Parading a lineup led by reigning MVPs Aby Marano and Ara Galang, La Salle has not dropped a set this season and has limited opponents to an average of 16.5 points per set.
Four Lady Spikers are averaging at least 9.5 points per game, with Galang (12.8) and Mika Reyes (11.8) leading the way with Marano and Cyd Demecillo.
La Salle is also the league's best attacking team, converting an average of 39 kills per outing on a 37.14% clip while also averaging a whopping 11.3 blocks per game.
On the other hand, the Lady Tamaraws have been solid against league minnows, but couldn't rise to the challenge when faced by contenders.
FEU got swept by National University in their last 2013 match, bowing to the Lady Bulldogs, 22-25, 19-25, 19-25.
Youngsters Rem Palma and Bernadeth Pons lead the charge for the Morayta spikers, who will also lean on the veteran smarts of Gyzel Sy and Tin Agno.
The game will air live over Studio 23, BALLS SkyCable HD 167 and uaapsports.tv with a same day replay at 10 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable channel 34 or Destiny Cable channel 36.
