Blowing hot and cold so far, Adamson University hopes to build momentum heading into the second half of the 76th UAAP women's volleyball tournament first round.
The Lady Falcons are coming off a resounding victory and will bid to book a second straight when they face winless University of the East Sunday at 2 p.m. at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.
Old reliables Shiela Pineda and Mandy Villaneuva scored 13 and 11 points, respectively, when Adamson swept University of Santo Tomas on December 18 and the Lady Falcons would need the duo, along with Mayette Zapanta, to deliver anew for them to beat the Lady Warriors.
Pineda currently sits at third in the Best Scorer race, norming 14.75 points per game as Adamson won two of their first four games.
Meanwhile, UE hasn't won a single set this season and coach Boy Dalistan admits that his wards fell flat on their faces in their last match.
The Lady Warriors were manhandled by Ateneo de Manila University, with the Recto spikers looking lost all game long, unable to pierce through the Lady Spikers' defense or even receive serves well.
Dalistan, though, believes that if UE plays to its potential, they could be making noise come the latter part of the season.
Rookie Shaya Adorador, who's shown flashes of solid play in her first four UAAP collegiate games, will lead the Lady Warriors anew.
The game will air live over Studio 23, BALLS SkyCable HD 167 and uaapsports.tv with a same day replay at 8 p.m. on BALLS SkyCable channel 34 or Destiny Cable channel 36.
