Recap: NU earns first ever Women’s Tennis crown

Far Eastern University topped the University of Sto. Tomas in four sets, winning, 23-25, 25-21, 25-17, 32-30 to notch its fourth straight victory in the UAAP Season 76 Men’s Volleyball tournament on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Arena in San Juan City.
Fifth year player and Team Captain Karl Dela Calzada erupted for 25 points to lead the Tamaraws scoring while Alexis Faytaren and Pangasinan recruit Greg Dolor added 13 and 10 points apiece.
Co-MVP Mark Alfafara finished with 32 points for the Tigers in the loss.
FEU improved their record to 4-1 while the UST saw their two game win streak snapped for a 2-3 record.
In the other match, Adamson University pulled off an inspiring come-from behind win against the University of the Philippines after going down 2 sets to none. The set scoring went as follows: 20-25, 18-25, 25-15, 25-21, 15-10.
The Soaring Falcons won their third match of the season against two losses as the Fighting Maroons absorbed their third defeat in the tournament while picking up two wins.
