Recap: NU earns first ever Women’s Tennis crown

After falling short against National University, Far Eastern University vented out its frustrations on Adamson University and swept them in straight sets, winning, 25-23, 25-23, 25-23 in the UAAP Season 76 Men’s Volleyball tournament on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Arena in San Juan City.
The Tamaraws lost to the Soaring Falcons, 3-1 in their first round match-up and made sure that they would not suffer the same fate this time around.
Veterans Karl dela Calzada and Alexis Faytaren scored 14 and 11 points respectively to lead FEU to victory.
FEU maintained its position in the teams standing at second place with a 6-2 record while Adamson suffered their fourth defeat in eight outings.
In the first match, Mark Alafafara exploded anew for the University of Sto. Tomas as his 26 points led the España based squad to a 3-1 win over the University of the East. The set scoring went 25-17, 25-15, 20-25, 28-26 in favor of the Tigers.
UST got to .500 with a 4-4 win-loss card while the Red Warriors remained winless at 0-8.
