Bullpups one win away from sweep

By Anton Roxas Posted Sep 8th 2013

NU tallied its thirteenth win of the season but will face a peaking Ateneo squad that is riding a ten game win streak.

National University crushed the University of the Philippines Integrated School 83-58 in the Juniors basketball tournament of UAAP Season 76 on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Blue Eagle Gym in Quezon City. The Bullpups won their thirteenth straight game of the season and are one win away from an elimination round sweep.

Standing in their way of achieving that feat is Ateneo de Manila University, who defeated the University of the East 68-49 to win their tenth straight contest. The Blue Eaglets, who are in second place at 11-2, are set to play against NU on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Blue Eagle Gym.

Ironically, the last team to achieve an elimination round sweep in the Juniors division was Ateneo de Manila University in 2010 (UAAP Season 73).

Currently in third place is De La Salle-Zobel who improved to 10-3 after prevailing in a tight contest against the University of Sto. Tomas.

Defending champion Far Eastern University-Diliman demolished Adamson University, 67-42.
