Lady Bulldogs make it six straight

National University earned its sixth straight victory to remain in solo second place in the UAAP 76 women's volleyball tournament.

National University earned its sixth straight victory after trouncing the University of Santo Tomas in three sets, 25-16, 25-20 and 25-23, in the UAAP 76 women's volleyball tournament Wednesday at the Filoil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.

The Lady Bulldogs upped their record to 8 – 1 to remain in second place behind league-leading and undefeated De La Salle University.

Dindin Santiago powered the Lady Bulldogs with 16 points on 14 attacks while younger sister Jaja and Mina Aganon each finished with 12 points.

National U’s defense overwhelmed UST as the Lady Bulldogs had 11 blocks to the Tigresses’ two.

UST failed to follow up its win over UE last Saturday as it fell to 3 – 6 and stayed in sixth place.

Jem Gutierrez was the lone Tigress who finished in double figures with 10 points.
