FEU secured a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 76 Football tournament after defeating UST, 2-1.

League leading Far Eastern University scored a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over the University of Sto. Tomas to secure a twice-to-beat advantage in the Final Four of the UAAP Season 76 Men’s Football tournament on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at the FEU-Diliman campus.

Seventeen-year-old rookie Marvin Bricencio of UST scored the first goal of the match in the 15th minute but it was only a matter of time before the Tamaraws struck.

Jhan-jhan Melliza tied the match up just nine minutes later finding the net after getting a nice assist from Eric Giganto.

In the second half, the Tamaraws found the back of the net once again during the 57th minute courtesy of a header by Arnel Amita but this time, it was Melliza who was credited for the assist.

No team was able to score again as FEU clinched its eight win in nine matches for a league best 24 points. After the loss the Tigers remained at fifth place with 11 points.
